Home of the Ira Parks' Sweater Kelso Roosters. I am located in Northeast Mississippi. I have been in the gamefowl business all of my life. I am a Second Generation Game Fowl Breeder. My father is Ira Parks and uncle Johnnie Jumper
Sweaters: The cock that made the Sweaters was 3/4 Kelso and 1/4 Sweater McGinnis blood but no one really knows for sure what the McGinnis blood was. It was yellow legged and pea combed. Hen was white legged and straight combed of the Out N Out Kelso family. The offspring come yellow and white legged with straight and pea combs. Every so often you might get a pumpkin colored rooster. My father Ira Parks and his friend Cecil Davis made these roosters when they walked roosters for Mr. Walter Kelso. This family of roosters like not to have been made because Cecil picked out a Murphy rooster to put over 6 Out N Out hens but my father didn't like the looks of him. He chose a yellow legged pea combed one eyed (blinker) that came from Mr. Kelso. We have kept them in their purity thru out the years. This family of Sweater Roosters was made back in the 1950s. My father walked roosters for people like: Mr. Bill Japit, Joe and Jay Goode, and Walter Kelso.
